कार्बन बॉर्डर टैक्स: भारत के लिए राहत के संकेत, पर अनिश्चितता बरकरार

यूरोपीय संघ (EU) के कार्बन बॉर्डर एडजस्टमेंट मैकेनिज़्म (CBAM) को लेकर भारत और यूरोप के बीच महीनों से जारी तनाव के बीच, एक नई स्टडी ने तस्वीर का एक संतुलित पक्ष दिखाया है।

रिपोर्ट का कहना है कि शुरुआती स्थितियों में EU में भारतीय वस्तुओं के आयातकों को कुल व्यापार मूल्य का लगभग 2.6%, यानी 826 मिलियन यूरो (लगभग ₹7,400 करोड़) का अतिरिक्त लागत भार झेलना पड़ सकता है।

CBAM क्या है और क्यों विवाद में है
CBAM, जो जनवरी 2026 से पूरी तरह लागू होगा, यूरोपीय उद्योगों को “कार्बन लीकेज” से बचाने के लिए बनाया गया है।
इस व्यवस्था के तहत, EU में आयात की जाने वाली कार्बन-गहन वस्तुओं – जैसे स्टील, एल्युमीनियम, सीमेंट, फर्टिलाइज़र, बिजली और हाइड्रोजन – पर कार्बन उत्सर्जन के हिसाब से शुल्क लगाया जाएगा।

इन कदमों से भविष्य में भारतीय उद्योगों को वैश्विक कार्बन मूल्य प्रणालियों के अनुरूप ढालने में मदद मिलेगी।
