रुद्रप्रयाग: हिमालयन घुरल का अवैध शिकार की सूचना मिलने पर वन विभाग द्वारा त्वरित कार्यवाही करते हुए दोषी को पकड़ लिया गया। इसके साथ ही अभियुक्त को वन्यजीव संरक्षण अधिनियम की धाराओं के तहत न्यायिक अभिरक्षा में भेज दिया गया है।
उप प्रभागीय वनाधिकारी डीएस पुंडीर ने उक्त जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि रुद्रप्रयाग वन प्रभाग को गुप्तकाशी यूनिट के अंतर्गत ग्राम राऊलैंक निवासी बृजमोहन नेगी द्वारा हिमालयन घुरल का अवैध शिकार कर अपने घर पर मांस पकाने की सूचना प्राप्त हुई। उन्होंने बताया कि सूचना मिलते ही वन विभाग की संयुक्त टीम को घटना स्थल के लिए रवाना किया गया जहां अभियुक्त बृजमोहन नेगी से पूछताछ करने पर उसके व परिजनों द्वारा हिमालयन घुरल का शिकार करने तथा अपने घर पर मांस को पकाने के अपराध को स्वीकार किया गया। उन्होंने बताया कि उक्त कृत्य वन्यजीव संरक्षण अधिनियम 1972 यथा संशोधित 2022 की धारा-9, 39, 44 के अंतर्गत दंडनीय अपराध है।
उन्होंने बताया कि वन विभाग की टीम ने अभियुक्त द्वारा वन्यजीव संरक्षण अधिनियम 1972 यथा संशोधित 2022 के अंतर्गत हिमालयन घुरल अनुसूची प्रथम का अवैध शिकार करने तथा वन्यजीव का मांस पकाने जैसे कारित अपराध हेतु हिरासत में लिया। साथ ही उक्त अभियुक्त को वन क्षेत्राधिकारी गुप्तकाशी यूनिट द्वारा न्यायालय मुख्य न्यायिक मजिस्ट्रेट रुद्रप्रयाग के समक्ष प्रस्तुत किया गया। अभियुक्त को मा. न्यायालय द्वारा न्यायिक अभिरक्षा में रखा गया है। वन विभाग द्वारा गठित संयुक्त टीम में वन क्षेत्राधिकारी गुप्तकाशी सहित वन दरोगा अभिषेक नेगी, वन आरक्षी कुलजीत सिंह, दैनिक श्रमिक दलीप बिष्ट आदि शामिल थे।
