मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने सोमवार को अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक दिवस के अवसर पर परेड ग्राउंड देहरादून में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने अन्तरराष्ट्रीय और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पदक जीतने वाले खिलाड़ियों को सम्मानित भी किया एवं खिलाड़ियों को खेल भावना की शपथ भी दिलाई। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि यह दिन खेल भावना, एकता और शांति के मूल्यों को समर्पित है। ओलंपिक केवल प्रतिस्पर्धा नहीं, बल्कि समर्पण, साधना और राष्ट्रीय गौरव का प्रतीक हैं।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में देश में खेलों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए व्यापक स्तर पर कार्य हुए है। भारत अब खेलों में केवल भागीदार नहीं, बल्कि विजेता के रूप में उभर रहा है। वर्ष 2023 के एशियाई खेलों में भारत ने 107 पदकों के साथ सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन किया, वहीं ओलंपिक 2020 के लिए भारत के 126 खिलाड़ियों ने क्वालिफाई किया, जो देश में खेल पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र की मजबूती को दर्शाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार उत्तराखंड को ’खेलभूमि’ के रूप में विकसित करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। हाल ही में आयोजित 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में उत्तराखंड के खिलाड़ियों ने 103 पदक जीतकर राज्य को गौरवान्वित किया।

खेल मंत्री श्रीमती रेखा आर्या ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री श्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी के नेतृत्व में नई खेल नीति में खिलाड़ियों की सुविधाओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए कई प्राविधान किये गये हैं। राज्य में खेल इन्फ्रास्टक्चर का तेजी से विकास हुआ है। 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों की मेजबानी का अवसर उत्तराखण्ड को मिला, जिसमें उत्तराखण्ड के खिलाड़ियों का सराहनीय प्रदर्शन रहा है।
