मुख्यमंत्री श्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने मंगलवार को टिहरी झील कोटी कॉलोनी में 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों के अन्तर्गत आयोजित कयाकिंग-कैनोइंग प्रतियोगिता का शुभारंभ किया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री ने खिलाड़ियों का उत्साहवर्धन किया। उन्होंने 1000 मीटर हीट कयाकिंग मेन्स प्रतियोगिता में स्वर्ण, रजत एवं कांस्य पदक विजेताओं को मेडल पहनाकर एवं सोविनियर से सम्मानित किया। इस दौरान श्रीमती गीता धामी भी मौजूद रही।

उक्त प्रतियोगिता में उत्तराखंड के प्रभात कुमार ने स्वर्ण पदक, एसएससीबी ने रजत तथा दिल्ली ने कांस्य पदक जीता।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखंड देवभूमि, वीरभूमि के बाद अब खेलभूमि के रूप में स्थापित हो रहा है। राज्य में 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों की मेजबानी करना पहला और सुखद अनुभव है। 28 जनवरी से 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों का भव्य आयोजन हो रहा है। सारी खेल प्रतियोगिताएं उत्तराखण्ड के 11 अलग-अलग स्थानों पर आयोजित की गई, खिलाड़ियों के लिए सारे खेल ट्रैक बनाये गये तथा कोई भी खेल उपकरण बाहर से नहीं लाये गये। जहां 37वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में उत्तराखण्ड 25वें स्थान पर रहा था वहीं अब हमारा राज्य 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में 7 स्थान पर है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि टिहरी झील ऊर्जा उत्पादन के साथ ही पर्यटन और साहसिक खेलों के लिए अन्यन्त अनुकूल है। यह वाटर स्पोर्ट्स का बहुत बड़ा हब बनेगा। यहां पर पहले भी राष्ट्रीय/अर्न्तराष्ट्रीय स्तर की खेल प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की गई हैं और आगे भी खेलों का क्रम सालभर चलता रहे यह प्रयास किये जायेंगे। इससे पर्यटन को बढ़ावा मिलेगा, स्थानीय स्तर पर स्वरोजगार के अवसर प्राप्त होंगे तथा स्थानीय आर्थिकी को बल मिलेगा।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रदेश हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ रहा है, प्रदेश को ड्रग्स फ्री करने का संकल्प लिया गया है, निश्चित ही यह दशक उत्तराखण्ड का दशक होगा। उन्होंने अन्य राज्यों से आये खिलाड़ियों एवं खेल प्रेमियों को देवभूमि उत्तराखण्ड के विभिन्न पर्यटक स्थलों का भ्रमण पर जाने की बात कही। उन्होंने कहा कि यहां की प्राकृतिक नैसर्गिक सुन्दरता से तन-मन में एक नई ऊर्जा का संचार होने के साथ ही शांति का अनुभव होगा। उन्होंने खिलाड़ियों को बधाई देते हुए उनके उज्जवल भविष्य की कामना की।

इस मौके पर मुख्यमंत्री ने टिहरी में शीतकालीन पर्यटन की थीम पर डेस्टिनेशन टिहरी कैलेंडर 2025 लॉन्च किया। यह कैलेंडर टिहरी की एक प्रमुख शीतकालीन पर्यटन स्थल के रूप में उभरती क्षमता पर प्रकाश डालता है, जिसमें रोमांच, प्राकृतिक सुंदरता और आध्यात्मिक स्थलों का समृद्ध मिश्रण है। उत्तराखंड पर्यटन और टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया के सहयोग से टिहरी गढ़वाल के जिला प्रशासन द्वारा कैलेंडर बनाया गया है।

टिहरी झील में 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेल के अन्तर्गत तीन दिवसीय कयाकिंग-कैनोइंग प्रतियोगियों में 16 राज्यों के 160 खिलाड़ी प्रतिभाग कर रहे हैं, जिनमें उत्तराखंड, मध्यप्रदेश, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश, दिल्ली, उड़ीसा, मणिपुर, कर्नाटक, केरल, पंजाब, चंडीगढ़, एसएससीबी आदि के 80 महिला खिलाड़ी एवं 80 पुरुष खिलाड़ी शामिल हैं।

विधायक टिहरी किशोर उपाध्याय ने मुख्यमंत्री का स्वागत करते हुए 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों के सफल आयोजन को लेकर उन्हें बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा कि गंगा की निर्मलता बनी रहे और वह अविरल बहती रहे, इसकी रक्षा करना भी जरूरी है।
