देहरादून: भाजपा ने प्रदेश के सबसे बड़े नगर निगम देहरादून के मेयर पद पर सौरभ थपलियाल को मैदान में उतार कर युवा कार्ड खेला है जिसका असर दिखने लगा है। सौरभ थपलियाल के समर्थन में अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद एवं भारतीय जनता युवा मोर्चा के पुराने दिग्गज एकजुट होकर मैदान में आ गए हैं।

देहरादून नगर निगम सीट पर युवा चेहरे को टिकट दिए जाने के बाद से युवाओं में खासा उत्साह नज़र आ रहा है। सौरभ थपलियाल को मेयर पद के लिए अपना प्रत्याशी बनाकर बीजेपी ने युवा वर्ग और निष्ठावान कार्यकर्ताओ को एक बड़ा संदेश दिया है कि पार्टी युवाओं व समर्पित कार्यकर्ताओं को आगे बढ़ाने का कार्य करती है।

यही वजह है कि देहरादून जैसी महत्वपूर्ण सीट पर सौरभ को मेयर पद का उम्मीदवार बनाकर बीजेपी ने युवाओं को साधने की कोशिश की है। सौरभ को टिकट मिलने के बाद से विद्यार्थी परिषद और युवा मोर्चा कार्यकर्ता एकजुट नज़र आ रहे हैं। इसमें ऐसे युवाओं की संख्या अधिक है जोकि मौजूदा समय राजनीति में सक्रिय नहीं थे। सोशल मीडिया के विभिन्न प्लेटफॉर्म के माध्यम से युवा सौरभ को अपना समर्थन दे रहे हैं। इसकी बड़ी वजह है कि सौरभ थपलियाल ने विद्यार्थी परिषद से लेकर युवा मोर्चा में अध्यक्ष के तौर पर अपनी अलग पहचान बनाई है।

छात्र राजनीति से निकलने के बाद सौरभ थपलियाल ने स्वयं को भाजपा के एक कद्दावर युवा चेहरे के तौर पर स्थापित किया है। अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद के कार्यकर्ता होने के दौरान भी सौरभ ने छात्र राजनीति में अपना एक अलग मुकाम स्थापित किया। राज्य के सबसे बड़े डीएवी महाविद्यालय में परिषद का पहला अध्यक्ष होने की उपलब्धि सौरभ के खाते में है।

यही नहीं एक के बाद एक लगातार दो चुनाव जीतने का खिताब भी सौरभ के ही नाम है। राज्य के नामी महाविद्यालय में शुमार डीएवी कॉलेज में 1999 में सौरभ रिकॉर्ड मतों से छात्र संघ महासचिव का चुनाव जीते और ठीक उसके अगले ही साल 2000 में छात्र संघ अध्यक्ष का चुनाव जीत अपने नाम एक रिकॉर्ड स्थापित किया। महज डीएवी कॉलेज ही नहीं बल्कि छात्र महासंघ के महासचिव व अध्यक्ष होने का रिकॉर्ड भी सौरभ के नाम है।

सौरभ की जीत के बाद से ही अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद ने डीएवी जैसे महाविद्यालय में अध्यक्ष पद पर चुनाव लड़ने की शुरुआत भी की। डीएवी महाविद्यालय छात्र संघ अध्यक्ष पद पर चुनाव जीत कर जो नींव सौरभ ने डाली उसपर एक के बाद एक विद्यार्थी परिषद के कई कार्यकर्ता छात्रसंघ अध्यक्ष का चुनाव जीते।

अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद से लेकर भारतीय जनता पार्टी युवा मोर्चा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष के तौर पर अहम जिम्मेदारी निभा चुके सौरभ थपलियाल युवाओं में अच्छी खासी पकड़ रखते हैं।यही वजह है कि सौरभ को टिकट मिलने के बाद से युवाओं का जोश और उत्साह देखते ही बनता है। विद्यार्थी परिषद के पुराने कार्यकर्ता भी सौरभ को टिकट मिलने के बाद से एकजुट हो गए है। सौरभ थपलियाल के समर्थन में युवा लामबंद हो रहा है साफ है कि बीजेपी ने जिस रणनीति के तहत सौरभ को टिकट दिया है उसमें वो सफल नज़र आ रही है।
