महाराणा प्रताप स्पोर्ट्स कॉलेज के गंगा एथलेटिक्स स्टेडियम में आज हरियाणा पुरुष और ओडिशा महिला रग्बी सेवेंस टीमों ने राष्ट्रीय खेल में लगातार तीसरी बार स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर ऐतिहासिक हैट्रिक पूरी की। हरियाणा ने पुरुषों के फाइनल में महाराष्ट्र को 22-7 से हराया, जबकि ओडिशा की महिला टीम ने बिहार को 29-5 से पराजित किया।

चैंपियन का आत्मविश्वास लिए मैदान में उतरी हरियाणा पुरुष टीम ने शुरुआत से ही दबदबा बनाए रखा। महाराष्ट्र ने मुकाबले में संघर्ष दिखाते हुए स्कोर 7-7 से बराबर किया, लेकिन इसके बाद हरियाणा ने अपने खेल का स्तर बढ़ाते हुए लगातार तीसरी बार राष्ट्रीय खेल के फाइनल में महाराष्ट्र को हराया।

ओडिशा की महिला टीम ने अपने फाइनल मुकाबले में सबसे प्रभावी प्रदर्शन किया और 2022 में अहमदाबाद में महाराष्ट्र के खिलाफ 22-0 से मिली जीत से भी बड़ा स्कोर बनाया। बिहार, जिसने गोवा में हुए पिछले संस्करण में ओडिशा को 12-7 तक सीमित रखा था, इस बार मुकाबले में देर तक प्रभाव नहीं छोड़ सका।

सेमीफाइनल में महाराष्ट्र से हारने के बाद ओडिशा की पुरुष टीम कांस्य पदक के प्ले-ऑफ में पश्चिम बंगाल के खिलाफ धीमी शुरुआत कर 0-10 से पिछड़ गई थी। लेकिन इसके बाद उसने शानदार वापसी करते हुए 26-10 की बढ़त बना ली और पश्चिम बंगाल को वापसी का कोई मौका नहीं दिया।

महिलाओं के कांस्य पदक मुकाबले में दिल्ली ने शुरुआती मिनट में एक ट्राई गंवाने के बाद लंबे समय तक महाराष्ट्र को टक्कर दी। पहले हाफ के अंत और दूसरे हाफ की शुरुआत में दिल्ली ने बढ़त बनाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन अंतिम तीन मिनटों में महाराष्ट्र ने खेल को पलटते हुए 17-10 से जीत दर्ज की और कांस्य पदक अपने नाम किया।
