उत्तरकाशी : गंगा नदी के संरक्षण को प्रोत्साहित करने, इसकी सांस्कृतिक और आध्यात्मिक महत्ता को उजागर करने और स्वच्छता के प्रति जन जागरूकता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से आज जिला मुख्यालय उत्तरकाशी में गंगा उत्सव-2024 के तहत विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया गया।
गंगा नदी को ’राष्ट्रीय नदी’ घोषित किए जाने की वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में राष्ट्रीय स्वच्छ गंगा मिशन के आह्वान पर इस बार आठवां गंगा उत्सव देश के गंगा नदी के तटवर्ती सभी जिलों में जिला गंगा समितियों के माध्यम से आयोजित किया जा रहा है।
गंगा के उद्गम क्षेत्र उत्तरकाशी जिले के मुख्यालय पर भी आज जिला गंगा समिति के तत्वावधान में ‘गंगा उत्सव‘ पर अनेक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। जोशियाड़ा झील में साहसिक खेल एवं पर्यटन विभाग के माध्यम से जल क्रीड़ा का आयोजन कर गंगा उत्सव के कार्यक्रमो की श्रृंखला की शुरूआत हुई। भागीरथी की लहरों पर प्रशिक्षित युवाओं ने राफ्टिंग व कयाकिंग जैसे रोमांचक वाटर स्पोर्ट्स की गतिविधियों का प्रदर्शन कर आम लोगों से गंगा नदी को अविरल व निर्मल बनाए रखने की अपील की गई। इस कार्यक्रम में प्रभागीय वनाधिकारी डीपी बलूनी, जिला पर्यटन विकास अधिकारी केके जोशी, साहसिक पर्यटन अधिकारी मोहम्मद अली खान, स्वजल पर्यावरण विशेषज्ञ प्रताप मटूड़ा, निरीक्षक एसडीआरएफ जगदंबा प्रसाद सहित बड़ी संख्या में युवाओं ने प्रतिभाग किया।
गंगा उत्सव के उपलक्ष्य में दोपहर में मणिकर्णिका घाट पर छात्र-छात्राओं की क्विज, निबंध, पेंटिंग एवं रंगोली प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया।
गंगा उत्सव के उपलक्ष्य में सायं को मणिकर्णिका घाट पर नुक्कड़ नाटक की प्रस्तुति, दीपोत्सव, गंगा आरती, गंगा भजन एवं गंगा स्वच्छता शपथ कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।
