ऋषिकेश। उत्तराखंड की पांचों सीटों में से कांग्रेस ने टिहरी, पौड़ी और अल्मोड़ा तीन सीटों पर उम्मीदवारों के नाम घोषित कर दिए थे। इसमें टिहरी लोकसभा सीट से जोत सिंह गुनसोला, पौड़ी से गणेश गोदियाल एवं अल्मोड़ा से प्रदीप टम्टा को उम्मीदवार बनाया गया था।
जबकि नैनीताल और हरिद्वार दो सीटों पर काफी समय से असमंजस बना हुआ था। लेकिन, अब कांग्रेस ने दोनों सीटों पर सस्पेंस खत्म कर दिया है। इसमें नैनीताल लोकसभा सीट से प्रकाश जोशी एवं हरिद्वार से वीरेंद्र रावत के नाम की घोषणा की गई है। कांग्रेस ने दोनों सीटों पर उम्मीदवार उतार दिए हैं। बता दें कि लंबे समय से सबसे ज्यादा चर्चा हरिद्वार सीट को लेकर हो रही थी, जिस पर अब तस्वीर साफ हो गई है। उत्तराखंड के पूर्व सीएम हरीश रावत ने वीरेंद्र रावत का टिकट फाइनल होने से पहले ही हरिद्वार लोकसभा सीट पर प्रचार शुरू कर दिया था। टिकट फाइनल होने के बाद पूर्व सीएम हरीश रावत ने अपने पुत्र वीरेंद्र रावत का हरिद्वार में रोड शो निकाला। गौरतलब है कि पूर्व सीएम हरीश रावत ने हरिद्वार लोकसभा सीट से अपने पुत्र वीरेंद्र रावत को उतारने का संदेश दिया था। हाल में वीरेंद्र रावत प्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी में प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष की जिम्मेदारी निभा रहे हैं। जोकि 2022 के विधानसभा चुनाव में खानपुर सीट से दावेदारी भी कर चुके हैं। लेकिन तब हरीश रावत की बेटी अनुपमा रावत को हरिद्वार ग्रामीण से विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ाया गया और वह विधायक चुनकर आईं। इस तरह इस बार लोकसभा के लिए वीरेंद्र रावत का रास्ता साफ हुआ है। हरिद्वार में पूर्व सीएम त्रिवेंद्र रावत के आगे वीरेंद्र रावत चुनाव मैदान में होंगे। वहीं नैनीताल सीट पर भाजपा के अजय भट्ट के सामने कांग्रेस के प्रकाश जोशी मुकाबला करेंगे। नैनीताल लोक सभा सीट से कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी प्रकाश जोशी एआईसीसी के पूर्व सचिव भी हैं।
