मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने बुधवार को हिमालयन सांस्कृतिक केंद्र, नींबूवाला, देहरादून में अंतरराष्ट्रीय वृद्धजन दिवस के अवसर पर राज्य स्तरीय कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग किया। उन्होंने प्रदेश के सभी वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वृद्धजन दिवस की शुभकामनाएं दीं।
इस अवसर पर उन्होंने वृद्धजनों को सम्मानित किया तथा वरिष्ठ नागरिक सम्मान संकल्प भी दिलाया। कार्यक्रम के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने एक पेड़ मां के नाम पर पौधा रोपण भी किया।इस दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने वृद्धजनों की सेवा के लिए समर्पित निशुल्क एंबुलेंस वैन और वृद्धिजनों की वाकथन रैली को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि वरिष्ठ नागरिक हमारे समाज के स्तंभ हैं, जिनका आशीर्वाद और अनुभव समस्त समाज के लिए मार्गदर्शक होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार एवं केंद्र सरकार की विभिन्न योजनाओं के माध्यम से बुजुर्गों के सम्मान, सुरक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और कल्याण के लिए निरंतर प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं।
उन्होंने अटल वयोअभ्युदय योजना, प्रधानमंत्री वय वंदना योजना, राष्ट्रीय वयोश्री योजना, वृद्धावस्था पेंशन योजना सहित अनेक कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि प्रदेश में लगभग 6 लाख बुजुर्गों को पेंशन की राशि सीधे उनके बैंक खातों में डीबीटी के जरिए उपलब्ध कराई जा रही है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राज्य में वृद्धाश्रमों की व्यवस्था को लगातार सुदृढ़ किया जा रहा है। बागेश्वर, चमोली और उत्तरकाशी जनपदों में राजकीय वृद्धाश्रम संचालित हो रहे हैं, जबकि देहरादून, अल्मोड़ा और चंपावत में नए भवन निर्माणाधीन हैं।
केंद्र सरकार के सहयोग से उधम सिंह नगर जनपद के रुद्रपुर में मॉडल वृद्धाश्रम का निर्माण किया जा रहा है।रुद्रप्रयाग, टिहरी, पौड़ी और पिथौरागढ़ में भी वृद्धाश्रमों की स्थापना के लिए प्रक्रिया गतिमान है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि जेरियाट्रिक केयर गिवर प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम के तहत वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की देखभाल के लिए विशेषज्ञ प्रशिक्षित किए जा रहे हैं। राज्य में इस वर्ष 150 मास्टर ट्रेनर और केयर गिवर तैयार करने का लक्ष्य है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राष्ट्रीय वयोश्री योजना के अंतर्गत वृद्धजनों को सहायक उपकरण उपलब्ध कराए जा रहे हैं। इस वर्ष 1,300 वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की मोतियाबिंद की निशुल्क सर्जरी किए जाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के अधिकारों की रक्षा के लिए राज्य में माता-पिता एवं वरिष्ठ नागरिक भरण पोषण अधिनियम भी लागू किया गया है।
इस अवसर पर कैबिनेट मंत्री गणेश जोशी, अध्यक्ष वरिष्ठ नागरिक कल्याण परिषद रामचंद्र गौड़, उपाध्यक्ष श्रीमती शांति मेहरा, हरक सिंह नेगी, एससी आयोग के अध्यक्ष मुकेश कुमार, सचिव समाज कल्याण डॉ. श्रीधर बाबू अद्दांकी, निदेशक समाज कल्याण चंद्रसिंह धर्मशक्तू मौजूद थे।
