मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी से गुरूवार को मुख्यमंत्री आवास में उत्तरांचल प्रेस क्लब की नवनिर्वाचित कार्यकारिणी के पदाधिकारियों ने अध्यक्ष अजय राणा के नेतृत्व में शिष्टाचार भेंट की। इस अवसर पर सूचना महानिदेशक बंशीधर तिवारी भी मौजूद रहे।
मुख्यमंत्री ने प्रेस क्लब के नव निर्वाचित पदाधिकारियों को शुभकामनाएं देते हुए सभी के उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना की। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा लोकतंत्र में मीडिया का महत्व सर्वविदित है। मीडिया से जुड़े प्रतिनिधियों की समस्याओं के समाधान के लिये राज्य सरकार निरंतर प्रयासरत है। उन्होंने मीडियाकर्मियों से राज्य विकास में सहयोगी बनने की भी अपेक्षा की।
इस अवसर पर प्रेस क्लब के निवर्तमान अध्यक्ष भूपेंद्र कंडारी ने कहा कि पूर्व में भी प्रेस क्लब को मुख्यमंत्री व सरकार का सहयोग मिलता रहा। उन्होंने उम्मीद जताई कि आगे भी इसी प्रकार का सहयोग मिलता रहेगा। नवनिर्वाचित अध्यक्ष अजय राणा और महामंत्री योगेश सेमवाल ने प्रेस क्लब भवन निर्माण के प्रस्ताव के लिए मुख्यमंत्री का आभार व्यक्त किया।
मुख्यमंत्री से मुलाकात के दौरान प्रेस क्लब के कोषाध्यक्ष मनीष डंगवाल कार्यकारिणी के वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष गजेंद्र सिंह नेगी, कनिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष सोबन सिंह गुसाईं, संयुक्त मंत्री शिवेश शर्मा, मीना नेगी, संप्रेक्षक विजय जोशी, कार्यकारिणी सदस्य मनमोहन लखेड़ा, रश्मि खत्री, सुलोचना पयाल, वीरेंद्र डंगवाल, मनोज जयाडा, हरीश थपलियाल, मनवर सिंह रावत उपस्थित रहे।
