गणतंत्र दिवस के पर्व पर जिलेभर में अनेक स्थानों पर प्रातः काल स्कूली छात्रों द्वारा प्रभात फेरी निकाली गई और विभिन्न सरकारी और गैरसरकारी भवनों एवं शिक्षण संस्थाओं के साथ ही निजी प्रतिष्ठानों पर राष्ट्रध्वज फहराते हुए देश की एकता व अखंडता तथा समग्र विकास के लिए अपने कर्तव्यों का निष्ठापूर्वक निर्वहन करने करने का संकल्प व्यक्त किया गया।
विद्यालयों एवं अन्य स्थानों पर सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियों तथा अन्य कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से गणतंत्र दिवस के उल्लास एवं महत्व को रेखांकित किया गया। जिला कार्यालय में जिलाधिकारी डॉ. मेहरबान सिंह बिष्ट ने ध्वजारोहण करते हुए लोक सेवकों को देश के विकास एवं जन-कल्याण के लिए प्रतिबद्धता से जुटे रहने का आह्वान किया।
गणतंत्र दिवस पर पुलिस लाईन ज्ञानसू में आयोजित मुख्य समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में जिलाधिकारी डॉ. मेहरबान सिंह बिष्ट ने ध्वजारोहण एवं परेड की सलामी लेने के बाद अपने संबोधन में जनपदवासियों को गणतंत्र दिवस की शुभकानाएं देते हुए कहा कि हमारे संविधान द्वारा नागरिकों के मौलिक अधिकार और कर्तव्य निर्धारित किये गए हैं, जिसका अनुपालन करना हर नागरिक का परम कर्तव्य है। संविधान में ही प्रत्येक नागरिक को सामाजिक, आर्थिक ओर राजनैतिक न्याय पाने का अधिकार दिया गया है ।
आज हमारा देश विश्व का सबसे बड़ा लोकतंत्र है और पूरे देश में विधि का शासन लागू है। हमारे देश ने विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उल्लेखनीय प्रगति की है और भारत अब दुनिया के अग्रणी व सशक्त देशों में सम्मिलित हो गया है। जिलाधिकारी ने कहा कि तेजी से आगे बढते भारत को विश्व का सबसे मजबूत और शक्तिशाली देश बनाने के लिए प्रत्येक नागरिक को अपनी सक्रिय भूमिका निभानी होगी।
इस अवसर पर पुलिस बैंड की धुनों के बीच उत्तराखंड पुलिस तथा भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस बल के जवानों, महिला होमगार्ड्स के दस्ते, एनएसीसी कैडैट्स, एसडीआरएफ, फायर सर्विस, यातायात पुलिस एवं पुलिस संचार इकाई द्वारा भव्य पुलिस परेड एवं झांकी का आयोजन किया गया।
इस समारोह में ऋषिराम शिक्षण संस्थान तथा गोस्वामी गणेशदत्त विद्या मंदिर के छात्र-छात्राओं के साथ ही पुलिस परिवार के बच्चों द्वारा आकर्षक सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी प्रस्तुत किए गए।
समारोह में पुलिस अधीक्षक सरिता डोबाल में उपस्थित लोगों का स्वागत एवं आभार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि पुलिस बल नागरिकों की सुरक्षा एवं शांति-व्यवस्था कायम करने के साथ ही देश के विकास में योगदान करने के लिए निरंतर जुटे रहने के लिए संकल्पबद्ध हैं।
