विभिन्न प्रदेशों के 40 लोग दयानंद आश्रम के माध्यम से दो बसो के द्वारा कुंजापुरी मन्दिर दर्शन को आए थे जिसमें लौटते समय वाहन बैक करते समय बस संख्या – UK 14 PA 1769 के ब्रेक फेल हो गये तथा खाई की तरफ गिर गयी जिसमें कुल 18 लोग शामिल थे जिनमें 07 घायलों को एम्स ऋषिकेश रैफर किया गया जबकि 05 लोगों का उपचार नरेन्द्रनगर में चल रहा है । दुर्घटना में 05 लोगों की मृत्यु हो गयी है जबकि 01 मामूली घायल व्यक्ति विनोद कुमार पाण्डेय को प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद वापिस दयानन्द आश्रम भेज दिया गया है ।
जबकी घायलों में नरेश चौहान, दीक्षा, चैतन्य जोशी, शिव कुमार शाह, माधूरी, राकेश, दीप शिखा को एम्स रैफर किया गया जबकि शेष घायलों में
बालकृष्ण, अर्चिता गोयल, प्रशान्त धुर्व, प्रतिमा धुर्व, राकेश व वाहन चालक शम्भू सिंह का उपचार उप जिला चिकित्सालय नरेन्द्रनगर में चल रहा है ।
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही जिलाधिकारी टिहरी गढ़वाल नीतिका खण्डेलवाल व एसएसपी आयुष अग्रवाल घटना स्थल पर पहुंचकर राहत एवं बचाव में लगी पुलिस एसडीआरएफ, फायर सर्विस व जनता के साथ मिलकर चलाये गये रेस्क्यू कार्यो एवं घायलों को अस्पताल पहुंचाने सम्बन्धी कार्यो का जायजा लिया एवं सम्बन्धित विभागों को आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश दिए ।
उन्होंने अस्पताल में पहुंचकर घायलों से वार्ता कर उनके स्वास्थ्य का हाल चाल जाना तथा गम्भीर घायलो को एम्स रैफर कराने के निर्देश सम्बधितो को दिए ।
मौके पर सीएमओ श्याम विजय, एआरटीओ सत्येन्द्र राज, उप जिलाधिकारी आशीष घिल्डियाल सहित बचाव व राहत दल के कर्मो उपस्थित थे ।
