प्रदेश में पांच राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज देहरादून, श्रीनगर, हरिद्वार, हल्द्वानी व अल्मोड़ा में संचालित हैं। इसके अलावा निर्माणाधीन राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज रुद्रपुर व पिथौरागढ़ के संबद्ध चिकित्सालय भी संचालित हैं।

इन मेडिकल कॉलेजों के अस्पतालों में मरीजों का पंजीकरण शुल्क, बेड, एंबुलेंस व अन्य पैथोलॉजी जांच की दरें अलग-अलग हैं। धामी सरकार ने राजकीय चिकित्सालयों की तर्ज पर मेडिकल कॉलेजों के अस्पतालों में यूजर चार्ज की एक समान दरें लागू करने का निर्णय लिया है। इसका सीधा लाभ इलाज के लिए आये मरीजों को मिलेगा।

स्वास्थ्य सचिव डॉ आर राजेश कुमार ने बताया कि नई दरें लागू होने के बाद सभी राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेजों में ओपीडी पर्ची शुल्क 20 रुपये और आईपीडी पर्ची शुल्क 50 रुपये लिया जाएगा। मेडिकल कॉलेजों में जनरल वार्ड में प्रति बेड के 25 रुपये, प्राइवेट वार्ड में 300 रुपये और एसी वार्ड प्रति बेड के 01 हजार रुपये शुल्क लिया जाएगा। एंबुलेंस का किराया पांच किमी. तक 200 रुपये होगा। इसके बाद प्रति किमी. 20 रुपये लिया जाएगा।
