मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड को देश और दुनिया के लिए आध्यात्मिक राजधानी के रूप में स्थापित करने के दृष्टिकोण से यह आवश्यक है कि योग, आयुर्वेद और ध्यान के केंद्रों को जिलों और ब्लॉकों तक विस्तारित किया जाए। इसके लिए प्रत्येक ब्लॉक में एक गाँव को पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के रूप में चुना जा सकता है, जिसे “आध्यात्मिक गाँव” के रूप में विकसित किया जाएगा। इस पहल के तहत गाँव में योग प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, आयुर्वेदिक स्वास्थ्य सुविधा, ध्यान और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य कार्यक्रम तथा स्थानीय स्तर पर आध्यात्मिक शिक्षा के अवसर प्रदान किए जाएंगे। इससे न केवल स्थानीय लोगों का स्वास्थ्य और मानसिक शांति बढ़ेगी, बल्कि राज्य को पर्यटन और स्वास्थ्य से जुड़ी नई पहचान भी मिलेगी।
