मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी की घोषणा को धरातल पर उतारते हुए चम्पावत जिले को बड़ी सौगात मिली है। बूम से टनकपुर के मध्य शारदा नदी के दाएं पार्श्व पर बाढ़ सुरक्षा के लिए तटबंध निर्माण हेतु राज्य सरकार ने ₹32.92 करोड़ की प्रशासकीय और वित्तीय स्वीकृति प्रदान की है।
जिलाधिकारी मनीष कुमार ने बताया कि यह परियोजना राज्य आपदा न्यूनीकरण निधि के अंतर्गत स्वीकृत की गई है, जिससे शारदा नदी तट के आसपास बसे गांवों को बाढ़ और भू-कटाव से स्थायी सुरक्षा मिलेगी।
परियोजना के तहत शारदा नदी के तट पर स्थित बसानी गोठ, सुवामोठ तथा गैण्डाखाली नंबर-3 गांवों को बाढ़ के खतरे से राहत मिलेगी। तटबंध निर्माण से हर वर्ष होने वाले भू-कटाव पर प्रभावी नियंत्रण स्थापित किया जा सकेगा और नदी किनारे रहने वाले ग्रामीणों के जीवन व संपत्ति की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित होगी।
वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26 के लिए परियोजना की पहली किस्त के रूप में कुल लागत का 40 प्रतिशत यानी ₹13.17 करोड़ की धनराशि भी जारी कर दी गई है। जिलाधिकारी ने संबंधित विभागीय अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए हैं कि निर्माण कार्य गुणवत्ता, पारदर्शिता और तय समयसीमा के भीतर पूरा किया जाए, ताकि इसका लाभ जल्द से जल्द आम जनता तक पहुंच सके।
