मुख्यमंत्री श्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने कहा कि 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों के शुभारंभ के अवसर पर हमें देश के प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त हुआ था। आज इन खेलों के समापन के अवसर पर हमें देश के गृहमंत्री अमित शाह जी का सानिध्य प्राप्त हो रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य स्थापना के रजत जयंती वर्ष में उत्तराखंड में पहली बार राष्ट्रीय खेलों का आयोजन हुआ। खेलों के इस महा समागम में देशभर से पधारे 16 हजार से अधिक एथलीट्स ने 35 खेल विधाओं में प्रतिभाग कर कुल 448 स्वर्ण 448 रजत तथा 594 कांस्य पदक जीते। कई खिलाड़ियों द्वारा राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अनेक रिकॉर्ड स्थापित किए गए और भविष्य में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करने की क्षमता रखने वाले बहुत से चैंपियन भी उभर कर सामने आए हैं। इन खेलों में जहां हमने पहली बार योग और मलखंब जैसे अपने पारंपरिक खेलों को शामिल करने का कार्य किया वहीं रात्रि काल में रिवर राफ़्टिंग की प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन कर विश्व रिकॉर्ड भी बनाया है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि उत्तराखण्ड में राष्ट्रीय खेलों को ग्रीन गेम्स की थीम पर आयोजित किया गया। इस आयोजन में प्लास्टिक का उपयोग कम से कम करने के साथ ही बिजली के लिए सोलर एनर्जी का उपयोग भी किया। खिलाड़ियों को दिए गए मेडल को ई-वेस्ट और खेल किटों को रीसाइकिल्ड पदार्थों से तैयार किया गया। ट्रांसपोर्टेशन के लिए ई-वाहनों का प्रयोग भी किया गया। 2.77 हेक्टेयर वन क्षेत्र को ’खेल वन’ के रूप में स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया गया, जिसमें प्रत्येक पदक विजेता खिलाड़ी के नाम से रूद्राक्ष के पेड़ लगाए जाएंगे।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि इस राष्ट्रीय खेल में देहरादून, हरिद्वार, रुद्रपुर, हल्द्वानी और ऋषिकेश जैसे मैदानी शहरों के साथ ही अल्मोड़ा, पिथौरागढ़ और टिहरी जैसे सुदूर पहाड़ी स्थानों में भी खेल स्पर्धाएं आयोजित की गई। चकरपुर जैसे एक छोटे से कस्बे में भी राष्ट्रीय खेलों की प्रमुख स्पर्धा का आयोजन हुआ। राष्ट्रीय खेल में जितने भी वाटर स्पोर्ट्स के इवेंट्स हुए, सभी को उत्तराखंड की हाई एल्टिट्यूड पर स्थित झीलों एवं नदियों में आयोजित किया गया। इन खेलों के आयोजन के लिए अस्थाई निर्माण की बजाय प्रदेश के विभिन्न स्थानों पर स्थाई स्पोर्ट्स इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर विकसित करने का प्रयास किया गया।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों को सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन के साथ उत्तराखंड ने इन खेलों में 24 स्वर्ण पदकों के साथ रिकॉर्ड 103 पदक अर्जित किए। इन परिणामों से हमारे युवा खिलाड़ियों को प्रेरणा मिलेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि “अतिथि देवो भवः“ की प्राचीन परंपरा के अनुसार खेलों के आयोजन के दौरान प्रयास किया गया कि विभिन्न राज्यों से पधारे खिलाड़ियों और सपोर्ट स्टाफ को किसी भी प्रकार की कोई समस्या न हो। उन्होंने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि राष्ट्रीय खेल में आये खिलाड़ी और सपोर्ट स्टाफ देवभूमि उत्तराखंड से अपने इस रिश्ते को बनाए रखेंगे और भविष्य में सपरिवार उत्तराखण्ड की नैसर्गिक सुंदरता को देखने अवश्य आएंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों का समापन आप सभी खिलाड़ियों के लिए खेल अवसरों का अंत नहीं, बल्कि नई उम्मीदों, नए संकल्पों और नई संभावनाओं की एक नई शुरुआत है।
