प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मंगलवार को 70 वर्ष और उससे अधिक आयु के सभी वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना (AB PM-JAY) का विस्तार करने की घोषणा की। अब यह योजना सभी वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को कवर करेगी, चाहे उनकी आर्थिक पृष्ठभूमि कुछ भी हो।

प्रधान मंत्री ने AIIMS ऋषिकेश से एक हेलीकॉप्टर आपातकालीन चिकित्सा सेवा का उद्घाटन भी किया, जो चिकित्सा देखभाल को तेजी से पहुंचाने में मदद करेगी।

नए मेडिकल कॉलेज

मोदी ने मध्य प्रदेश के मंदसौर, नीमच और सिवनी में तीन मेडिकल कॉलेजों का उद्घाटन किया, साथ ही विभिन्न AIIMS में सुविधाओं और सेवाओं का विस्तार किया। इनमें हिमाचल प्रदेश के बिलासपुर, पश्चिम बंगाल के कल्याणी, बिहार के पटना, उत्तर प्रदेश के गोरखपुर, मध्य प्रदेश के भोपाल, असम के गुवाहाटी और नई दिल्ली के AIIMS शामिल हैं, जिसमें एक जन औषधि केंद्र भी शामिल है।

उन्होंने छत्तीसगढ़ के बिलासपुर में सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेज में एक सुपर स्पेशलिटी ब्लॉक और ओडिशा के बर्गर में एक क्रिटिकल केयर ब्लॉक का उद्घाटन किया और मध्य प्रदेश के शिवपुरी, रतलाम, खंडवा, राजगढ़ और मंदसौर में पांच नर्सिंग कॉलेजों की नींव रखी। इसके अलावा, उन्होंने हिमाचल प्रदेश, कर्नाटक, मणिपुर, तमिलनाडु और राजस्थान में आयुष्मान भारत स्वास्थ्य अवसंरचना मिशन के तहत 21 क्रिटिकल केयर ब्लॉक के लिए नींव रखी।
